How to Prepare for Your Home Office Organizing Appointment

We want to help you prepare in advance for our first home office organizing session together.  We realize you are making a time and financial commitment to this project and we want you to get the most from our work together.  Here are a few things you may wish to consider that will enable us to maximize our time together:

1. Complete as much of the Home Office Questionnaire. Skip any questions not relevant to your project.

  • We send this questionnaire to you in advance so you can begin to think about your project before your Specialist arrives to work with you – it’s your opportunity to provide some initial information.

2. Prepare a list of questions you don’t want to forget to ask your Specialist.

3. Arrange for un-interruptible time so we can focus on your project; for example:

  • Limit phone calls
  • Arranging for child-care
  • Limit outside appointments

Supplies

While we will create a customized shopping list (if needed) for you over the course of your project, you may find that some of the following may be helpful depending on the nature of your project.

1. Boxes or shopping bags that can be used for donations, recycling, shredding, or moving items to another location.

2. Garbage bags.

3. File Folders.

We typically recommend using all “center cut” or “2nd position” if you want to purchase in advance – or we can sell them to you if necessary.

  • When specific folders are needed, we will make that recommendation.

4. Sticky Notes, pens, and a marker.

5. Label Maker.

We always have ours, but you may want one of your own.
